The Centre for Islam and Medicine is rolling out its first courses on Organ Donation as part of its vision to develop structured learning and research in the field of Islamic Medical ethics. The course offers doctors, nurses, medical students, patients and those with an interest in the field the opportunity to attend a day course to study in depth the findings from our research. The course will incorporate an overview of how decisions on subjects such as organ donation are made by Muslim jurists, as well as ethical and legal aspects of organ donation in Islam. The programme will also include talks from NHSBT speakers and a guest patient with experience of organ donation, to give a holistic perspective of organ donation. There will be workshops providing an opportunity to apply concepts taught to real life cases and facilitate discussion with fellow attendees.
The courses will be held in Birmingham on 22nd November and Leeds on the 29th November. For more information on the course and to purchase your tickets, visit our website www.thecim.org.uk/
